Strong trigger warnings for: suicide and sexual assault/molestation

Expectations can be too heavy to carry. For Emily that might have been the case. Or was it? Who do we trust? Who do we believe? A web of lies & secrets – all on display for everyone to see.

When I first started this book, I thought “love story? This is NOT what I’m looking for”. But I circled back after a couple of Freida reads and gave it a shot. I only came across this book while searching for more Jodi Picoult after finishing “The Storyteller”. Not sure what I expected, but it wasn’t this! I generally go in blind – I don’t like to read reviews or even the descriptions – and blind I was! Aside from the trigger warnings, the story is gripping, heart wrenching, and pulls you in so many different directions, you’re just not sure where to turn… and to whom.
