This wasn’t my favorite Jennifer Hillier novel, but I did still enjoy it. I think it just felt too familiar as far as plot – I’ve recently read several Jennifer Hillier novels and she tends to reuse characters. This could be why it felt so familiar and possibly why it felt like it fell short of her other works.

Paris Peralta is married to the famous comedian, Jimmy Peralta. One wedding photo shared online could send her whole life crashing down. While she’s wrapped up in keeping the past buried, Jimmy is struggling with the pressure of coming out of retirement. When Paris returns from a trip to find Jimmy dead, she panics, slips and hits her head. When she comes to, Jimmy’s assistant is screaming that she’s a murderer and there are cops. Now she has her past, surely catching up with her, AND Jimmy’s murder to contend with. Paris has to deal with some pretty serious demons to put her past to bed – but first, who killed Jimmy?
