Prenatal Appointments
You will receive a minimum of two or maximum of four prenatal visits with your doula. During your prenatal appointments, you, your doula, and your partner will be able to discuss your plans for labor and delivery. You will also work on breathing techniques, positioning, etc. that will aid in labor. This will also give you time to get more comfortable with your doula. You will work together to build your labor and delivery plan.
Labor and Delivery
Two weeks prior to your due date, your doula will be on-call 24/7. You will need to call your doula and allow plenty of travel time (if possible!). Your doula will assist you through labor and delivery, advocate for you, and help you make well-informed decisions in the event you need to pivot from your original plan. After delivery, your doula will follow up with you at least two times. At this time, the doula will be able to provide additional resources such as post-postpartum counseling, lactation support, and more.

Week 13: This week has started with a BIG decrease in morning sickness, but an uptick in other symptoms like bloating, constipation & backaches. All pretty standard for the end of the 1st trimester & beginning of the 2nd trimester.
If you’re experiencing any of these – it’s probably just normal pregnancy woes. HOWEVER – if you feel something is wrong, or might be wrong, DO NOT be afraid to contact your OB.
Always remember – advocating for yourself & your baby is PERFECTLY fine! Honestly, who else knows your body (& your growing baby) better than YOU?!
